Why We Use Google Sign-In and Google Drive

Purpose: Optional Cloud Backup Feature Only

We integrate Google Sign-In and Google Drive API exclusively for users who choose to enable cloud backups. This is entirely optional.

Why Google Sign-In?

  • • Secure Authentication: We use the official Google Sign-In SDK to verify your identity
  • • No Password Storage: We never see or store your Google password
  • • Single Purpose: Used only to authenticate your Google Drive access
  • • User Control: You can disconnect at any time from app settings

Why Google Drive Access?

  • • Secure Backup Storage: Your habit data can be backed up to YOUR Google Drive
  • • You Own Your Data: Backups are stored in your personal Google Drive, not on our servers
  • • Encrypted Before Upload: All backup data is encrypted before being sent to Google Drive
  • • Scoped Access: We only request access to files created by Habit Buddy, not your entire Drive

Your Control

Data Deletion

From the App

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Backup & Restore
  2. 2. Scroll to "Danger Zone"
  3. 3. Tap "Reset All Data"
  4. 4. All data deleted immediately

From Google Drive

  1. 1. Open Google Drive
  2. 2. Find Habit Buddy backup files
  3. 3. Delete the files
  4. 4. Data removed from cloud

On Uninstall

All local app data is deleted when you uninstall the app.
